EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Future Infrastructure and Built Environment: Resilience in a Changing World (FIBE2)

Speaker: Elizabeth Orchard is a Chartered Civil Engineer specialising in sustainable development on large (strategic) sites, and the Institution of Civil Engineers' Regional Member of Council for the East of England.  In March 2023, Elizabeth set up her own consultancy business, Endelevu Ltd., to help fulfill her ambitions to help deliver truly sustainable large-scale/strategic development in the UK, in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Title: The practical delivery of sustainable development in civil engineering

Abstract: In her talk, she will start by giving a candid overview of her career journey to date, followed by sharing her insights into the transition of the Built Environment Industry needed in order to deliver sustainable development, navigating both the individual and industry-wide opportunities and challenges along the way.  Elizabeth welcomes interactive discussion, so there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and steer the talk in the direction you all will find most useful.
