Speaker for the next Lunchtime Seminar is Neil Montague, Senior Data Scientist at Arup. 

 

Title: The applications of Agent Based Modelling in the transport context

 

Abstract: Based in the Arup London office, the City Modelling Lab applies Agent Based Modelling and advanced data analytics techniques to delve into complex questions on how transport impacts society. Neil Montague, a Senior Data Scientist in the team, will give an overview of the work of the team in areas such as the equity of transport policies, how EVs impact the electricity grid, and decarbonisation scenarios.

 

Speaker Bio: Neil Montague is a Senior Data Scientist in Arup’s City Modelling Lab, based in London. With degrees in Engineering Science and Civil Engineering from University College Dublin and Chartered Engineer status from Engineers Ireland, he specialises in Agent Based Modelling, data analytics, and geospatial analysis. Neil leads data-driven work on national and city-scale transport projects, including rail strategy, EV infrastructure, and cycling masterplans. His work explores travel behaviour, equity in transport policy, the impacts of EVs on electricity grids, and decarbonisation pathways. He is known for delivering complex insights through interactive dashboards, visualisations, and compelling reports.
