EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Future Infrastructure and Built Environment: Resilience in a Changing World (FIBE2)

 

Speaker: Prof Abbas Rajabifard is Director of Centre for Spatial Dara Infrastructures and Land Administration at the University of Melbourne, and he is Associate Dean Sustainability at Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology. Abbas is an internationally recognised scholar and geospatial engineer and is an active leader in land administration system modernisation, digital twin design and development and urban analytics, and a technical lead in sustainability and resilience research.

Prof Abbas is a Board Member of the United Nations-Academic Network for Global Geospatial Information Management to assist UN member states for their sustainability, and a member of UN international advisory committee for UN Global Geospatial Knowledge and Innovation Centre. 

Talk Title: Geospatial and 3D Land information Solutions for Smart Cities-a new Era empowered by Digital Twin

Abstract: Advancing our digital economy and empowering our wider societies, as well as in responds to the global challenges, this presentation will discuss the trends in 3D urban land administration and analytical capabilities, location intelligence and digital twin as an enabling platform. Digital Twin is an opportunity for us to lead the generation of Scientific Evidence and prepare for the future opportunities in smart cities and challenges ahead in urban and population growth. This will allow us to better understand our changing environment and support our societies by making better and more resilience infrastructures using location intelligence and digital capabilities.
